Dear Future Husband,
I aspire to be better each day until I become worthy of you. While I am working on myself, I hope not to get lost in my imperfection that I begin to take you for granted. Like other girls, I have made so many peculiar messes in my wake. I have had and still have guilty pleasures.
I have been a cheat as shit, and a cheater as quick as a cheetah. I am distinct in humbling ways that you’d relish connecting with but sometimes the Angela in me comes to play in a park filled with Slay Queens. This is the truth; I have flirted purposelessly. Sometimes I pretend not to have the slightest home training. Unconsciously, I have broken hearts. Intentionally, I have withheld the truth just because I fear of what ruin it could cause to my relationship. Emotionally, I have made misinformed choices that have caused me to hurt others even in the aim of trying to protect them.
I just want you to know that you won’t be meeting a woman with a clean slate. Even when I age, I will still be a work in progress. No, I don’t need you to fix me, I only need your help in pushing me to fix myself. When I mess up, I hope you do what must be done, but above that, I hope you never give up on me, and sincerely embrace my strengths and weaknesses.
This is by no means an excuse to ere in our marriage or an admission of guilt for sins long forgiven. I figured it could ruin us if you know about my strives and thrives but not my mischievous and ludicrous past. I am just counting on it, that you accept me in spite.
I can’t be the best because there is always someone better. I am just a good woman that makes mistake.
